Guides
Learn display calibration
and color on macOS.
Start with a visual pattern check, then follow practical macOS guides for TV checks over HDMI, display setup, measured calibration, calibration software, SDI output, LUT preparation, and ICC profiles. PatternSpace supplies patterns and output tools; a meter and compatible calibration software measure the display.
Where to start
New to PatternSpace? Read Getting Started first, then Display Setup to choose the output display and measurement range. Calibrating a TV over HDMI, driving an external signal path, or preparing LUTs and ICC profiles each have their own guide below. Every guide is written for macOS and notes which features need Pro or the separate SDI purchase.
Getting Started
Install, choose a display, render your first pattern, and connect your calibration software.
TV Test Patterns over HDMI
Connect a Mac to a TV, check framing and signal range, and separate SDR inspection from measured calibration.
DeckLink SDI Calibration
Connect ColourSpace to an external SDR signal path. Check hardware requirements, video range, supported modes, and purchases.
LUT Tools for Mac
Inspect, compose, adjust, and convert LUTs. Understand export checks, numerical inversion, and ICC DeviceLink limits.
Calibration Workflow
How display calibration works and where PatternSpace fits — as a pattern source, and for verifying against a standard.
Display Setup
Choose the output display, pick the right Output Color preset, set measurement range, and read EDR / Peak White.
Connecting Calibration Software
Drive PatternSpace from ColourSpace, CalMAN, PGenerator, and the PatternSpace Remote protocol.
ICC Profile Tools
Build matrix/TRC profiles, import compatible .cube curves as VCGT, and inspect, compare, and assign display profiles.
